Honouring Diversity Through Art
In 2018, Acacia Fitzroy Creche underwent a transformative event with the creation of a vibrant mural. This initiative, led by local artists Lucy Parkinson and Gonzalo Varela, turned a previously graffiti-targeted wall into a colourful masterpiece that reflects the diversity of Fitzroy.
Over two months, the mural evolved through community collaboration, incorporating ideas from children and passers-by. The final design features a patchwork of animals, plants, and cultural symbols, sparking joy and conversation among parents and children alike.
This mural not only beautifies our space but also fosters a sense of belonging and community connection. It represents our commitment to honouring diversity and creating welcoming environments where everyone feels valued and celebrated.
